UPDATES:

Week 3: During the win versus Arkansas, Max logged 67 snaps.  He recorded four tackles and assisted on another.  He recorded his first sack and interception of the season.  He was also targeted five times in coverage allowing three receptions for 33 yards.

Week 2: In the 41-16 win over Southern Utah, Max played 41 snaps.  He recorded 4 tackles and assisted on another.  He did not get targeted in coverage or apply pressure on the quarterback.

Week 1: In the Cougars' win over Sam Houston, Max played 47 snaps.  He recorded eight tackles and assisted on another.  Max was targeted twice and allowed two receptions for 23 yards.  He also had one QB hurry.

2022: Played in seven games, starting six…Despite a season-ending injury, finished as BYU's fourth-leading tackler on the season and tied for the lead in interceptions with 57 stops (33 solo), two tackles-for-loss, a sack, quarterback hurry, forced fumble, pass breakup, and three interceptions with 67 return yards including two for touchdowns…Two 13-tackle games (vs. Baylor, vs. Notre Dame)...Currently BYU's career-active leader in interceptions…

2021: Started six games…Registered at least three tackles in each of the six starts…Finished the season as the Cougars' second-leading tackler with 68 (37 solo, 4.5 for loss), a sack, and an interception.

2020: Named Second-Team All-Independent. Tallied 44 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 3 QB hurries, one interception, one pass breakup, and one blocked kick.

2019: Played in all 13 games, including starts against Boise State and Utah State….Recorded 48 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one interception…Three-time player of the week (Special Teams – USC, Liberty, defense – Washington)
