Stephen Anderson

FB, WR/TE · California
A former walk-on, Anderson grew up in a Cal family, but the scholarship offer never arrived so he followed in the footsteps of his father (Steve) and walked on at Berkley, eventually earning a scholarship in 2013. He became the starting "Y" receiver as a junior in 2014 and finished second on the team with 661 yards receiving, adding 46 catches and five touchdowns. Anderson started 12 games as a senior in 2015 and recorded 41 receptions for 474 yards and a pair of scores, earning All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention honors for the second straight season.

a receiver/tight end 'tweener, anderson shows efficient route acceleration to snap in/out of his breaks and present a good-sized target for his quarterback, but he needs to improve his ballskills to locate quicker and handle the fastball.

IN OUR VIEW

although the effort is there, anderson is unreliable as a point of attack blocker and doesn't fit the mold of a nfl prototypical tight end - projects best as a "big" slot receiver.
