Tyeler Davison

DT, DE · Fresno State
Davison was recognized in 2014 with his third consecutive season with All-Mountain West accolades. He was a first-team selection in 2012 and a second-team honoree the following season. The former high school wrestling champion finished his career at Fresno State earning an invitation to play in the 2015 East-West Shrine Game and participate in the Scouting Combine. A 38-game starter for the Bulldogs, Davison led the team in tackles-for-loss (13) and sacks (8) his senior season. He finished sixth on the defense with 61 tackles and has been a extremely productive interior linemen. It was evident he would be an impact player for the Bulldogs his redshirt freshman after finishing with 16 tackles (most by non-starter from front four) and one sack. He continued to raise his level of play breaking out one year later when he captured first-team All-Mountain West honors. Davison was close to unstoppable at times in the Mountain West and his appearance the performance at the East-West Shrine practices were a critical gauge that he can play with some of the top talent in the country. He was able to establish himself show flashes of what made him the player he was at Fresno State.

in our view

A big-time talent who will need a year to adapt to the speed and talent of the NFL.

strengths

The powerful nose tackle possesses a NFL frame for the position along with long arms (33 2/8") and knows how to use them to his advantage. Is very quick off the snap and is not easy to block. He is strong as an ox and is well built overall. Uses his wide frame to get off the ball and has developed an impressive resume of pass rushing skills. Can anchor and be a hard object to move especially when he plays with a low pad level. Is able to shed blocks and locate the football.

weaknesses

Davison gets covered up at times because of his lack of height. Has above-adequate ability but must get low and underneath offensive linemen's pads more consistently. Did not face the toughest competition in college but did practice well at the East-West Shrine Game. He tends to play upright too much.
