Third-year starter who is perhaps the top fullback in the MWC...is actually more of a hybrid back who can play as the lead-blocking FB, tailback in I-formation or by himself in single back packages...has improved each year as a lead blocker, helping to spring many big runs over the past two years...is very effective in pass protection as well...also a powerful and surprisingly agile runner when given the ball...coaches like to use him as a tailback to punish defenses and provide a change-up to the more shifty tailbacks...coaches say he has the size and athleticism needed to play at the next level, but needs to continue to polish his running and blocking technique...has made a tremendous jump in the weight room over the past two years developing into one of the strongest athletes on the team...back-to-back winner of the team's Beefmaster award for players weighing between 226-250 pounds...benches 385 pounds, 345 incline bench, 352 power clean and can squat 520...35 games with 13 starts...289 career rushing yards on 57 carries (5.3 avg.) and 2 TDs...also has 3 catches for 28 yards and a TD, all coming in 2003...suffered a knee injury in the 2002 Cherry-Silver spring game and subsequently had the knee scoped...injury bothered him throughout the `02 season, but he has regained full confidence in the joint after three years of trouble-free action...wears the same number as Lobo legend Brian Urlacher.
