Selected team captain and MVP, first team St. Paul Pioneer Press All-Area and All-State, first team Minneapolis Star Tribune All-Metro and first team Minnesota Football Coaches Association All-State, and first team All-Missota Conference, during senior season. Caught 52 passes for 1,000 yards (19.3 avg.) and 13 TDs and rushed six times for 108 yards, including an 89-yard carry, as wide receiver. Notched 55 tackles, eight deflections, two fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and one interception as strong safety for 11-2 league champion and Class 4A semifinalist during final prep season. First team All-Conference with 13 receptions for 313 yards (24.1 avg.) with six TDs, including an 81-yard catch, on 9-1 playoff qualifier as junior. Earned three letters in football while adding four in basketball and two in baseball. All-conference basketball selection as guard. Was a pitcher on the baseball team. National Honor Society member.
