Clint Trickett

QB · West Virginia
He struggled mightily in 2013 in his first season since transferring from Florida State, but it's been a different story this season. Trickett has a much better grasp of the West Virginia offense and that fact is reflected in his confidence as a downfield passer.

in our view

Lack of physical growth potential likely limits his draft potential to the later rounds, but he has a much better chance of getting drafted now compared to before the 2014 season.

strengths

Shows excellent understanding of the playbook and where receivers will be. Does a nice job taking what the defense gives him, but will also challenge defense while giving his weapons a chance to make plays on the ball.

weaknesses

Transition to the NFL will be a struggle because of his skinny frame and inability to add muscle mass. Too often predetermines throws, and can struggle to put enough touch on his downfield attempts, making it easy on secondary defenders by leading them to the ball with his eyes.
