2022: 2023 Senior Bowl Participant...Included on Bruce Feldman’s Freaks List...Collected All-AAC First Team honors, solidifying himself as one of the nation’s top all-around tight ends…Broke the UC record for career touchdown receptions by a tight end (15) with his scoring grab at UCF, breaking Brent Celek’s mark…Finished his career as one of the most productive tight ends in school history in a program that has produced several NFL starters in recent years…Tallied 88 receptions, 1062 yards and 15 touchdowns with all but two catches coming in his final three seasons…Appeared in 12 games with 10 starts in 2022…Team captain hauled in 32 receptions for 326 yards and three touchdowns…Had at least two receptions nine times and at least 20 yards seven times…Totaled a season-high seven receptions for 70 yards in a 23-3 victory vs Temple…Caught five passes for 38 yards at No. 19 Arkansas…Brought in four receptions for 53 yards in a 29-27 victory vs SMU…Caught three passes for 36 yards and a score vs. Kennesaw State…Scored a two-yard TD at Tulsa.


2021: Made eight starts and played in all 14 games... Earned All-AAC Honorable Mention honors... Totaled 332 receiving yards on 26 catches with six touchdowns, which ranked second on the team... Scored five touchdowns in four weeks from Oct. 23 to Nov. 12...Opened the season with a touchdown and 32 yards in the win against Miami (Ohio)...Had four catches for 60 yards and two touchdowns (career- high) in a road win at Navy...Followed that game up with four more catches for 79 yards and another two touchdowns on the road against Tulane...Was named Cincinnati’s Offensive Player of the Week both those weeks and Cincinnati’s Special Teams Player of the Week against UCF after blocking a punt...Tied his career-high with five catches against USF, totaling 61 yards in the win...Had three catches for 35 yards in the AAC Championship Game against Houston...Enters final season as one of the nation’s top tight ends with 56 receptions, 736 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career - with all but two catches coming in 2020 and 2021.

2020: Earned Third-Team All-America honors from Pro Football Focus and Second-Team All-AAC accolades at tight end after a breakout 2020 campaign...Made his first career start against Houston but was a key contributor on offense and special teams in all 10 games during UC’s AAC Championship season...Led the team with 353 receiving yards on 28 catches with six touchdowns...Entered the season with two career catches for 51 yards and surpassed that in the season opener against Austin Peay with 3 receptions for 61 yards and his first career TD... His career-long 30-yard reception also came against the Governors...Set a career mark with five receptions against Houston and at UCF and also had a career-high 81 yards and a 29-yard score in a big win in Orlando...According to PFF, he generated a 92.9 receiving grade and 2.94 yards per route run, both of which trailed only UF’s Kyle Pitts for the best among NCAA FBS tight ends.

2019: Saw action in 12 games, making a pair of catches for 51 yards…Had his first career reception against UCLA, hauling in a 19-yarder…Set a career best with a 32-yard catch against UConn...Named to the 2019 AAC All-Academic Team.

2018: Suffered a preseason injury in training camp which limited his availability early in the season...Redshirted, but utilized a new NCAA rule which allowed him to play in four games as a true freshman...Made his UC debut against Navy and also saw action at UCF, against ECU and in the Military Bowl win over Virginia Tech.

 

High school: Was a standout prep at La Salle HS for Coach Pat McLaughlin and Coach Jim Hilvert...A three-star prospect ranked as one of the Top-10 tight ends in the 2018 class and Top-14 players in Ohio...La Salle had a 50-8 record with three Ohio High School Athletic Association Division II titles while Whyle was a prep...Led the Lancers and ranked fourth in the GCL South in 2017 with 37 receptions for 442 yards and three TDs...Tabbed for First-Team Division II All-Ohio and First-Team All-Southwest District Division II honors by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association...Also earned First-Team All-GCL South honors...Led the Lancers and ranked fourth in the GCL South in 2017 with 37 receptions for 442 yards and three TDs...Earned First-Team All-GCL South honors...Caught 40 passes for 546 yards and six touchdowns during his junior season as he helped the Lancers capture their third-consecutive state title...Earned First-Team All-GCL-South honors...Chose UC from over 30 NCAA FBS offers, including Auburn, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
