NEW ORLEANS - Georgia Southern fifth-year quarterback Davis Brin was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance Saturday against UAB. It marks the first honor for the transfer from Tulsa who has thrown for 562 yards and four touchdowns in two games.

Brin led the Eagles to a big non-conference win at home over UAB. He completed 38 of 47 passes for 318 yards and two touchdowns, spreading the ball to eight different receivers. He also ran the ball six times for 18 yards and a touchdown. The 38 completions are the second-most by a quarterback in Clay Helton's head coaching career (Kedon Slovis, USC, 40 vs. Arizona State in 2020) and tied for the second-most in Georgia Southern history (Lee Chappel, 39 vs. Furman in 2008).
Defensive Player of the Week - Jason Henderson, Old Dominion
Jason Henderson recorded a game-high 17 tackles in ODU's 38-31 win over Louisiana ... He also recorded 2.5 tackles for loss ... It was his 17th carry double-digit tackle game.
Special Teams Player of the Week - Aiden Fisher, James Madison
In JMU's 36-35 win at Virginia, Aiden blocked a first-quarter punt in the endzone, resulting in a D'Angelo Ponds blocked punt for a TD, giving JMU a 14-0 lead. He also stepped in to a primary role on defense in the second half, finishing the game with a team and career-high 9 tackles and a QB hurry. He and the JMU defense limited UVA to just 18 rushing yards on 35 carries, as the Dukes rallied from 11 down in the fourth quarter. It was JMU's third victory all-time against the ACC.
