Cincinnati Bengals punter Drue Chrisman provides update on injury, absence from camp
Cincinnati Bengals punter Drue Chrisman provided an update on his undisclosed medical situation Friday afternoon.
The 26-year-old former Ohio State standout tweeted a picture from a hospital bed, saying, "Thank you to everyone who has reached out. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Everything looking to be okay and hopefully back soon."
Chrisman was not at the opening day of training camp on Wednesday. Bengals coach Zac Taylor provided in update on the punter after practice.
"Drue had a medical situation this morning," Taylor said Wednesday. "He's been great, we've communicated with him today. He's with some doctors right now. I don't want to get too much into it without having all of the information, but the good thing is with the situation, people took care of him quickly, he's been responsive, he's been talking to us, he's been in great spirits, and we'll get more information."
Chrisman punted in the final 10 games for the Bengals last season, replacing veteran Kevin Huber. The Bengals drafted Michigan punter Brad Robbins, a graduate of Westerville South, in the sixth round (217th overall) of April's NFL draft.
