16 locals on Nevada Wolf Pack football roster as training camp begins

Reno Gazette Journal
With the Nevada football team starting fall camp Wednesday, the roster still has a solid local presence with 16 players from Northern Nevada on the official roster, and a few more to be added after school starts.
There was one addition and one subtraction on the official roster since the spring: Marshaun Brown from Bishop Manogue joins the Wolf Pack after graduating last spring, and Carson graduate Connor Davis is no longer listed on the team.
The spring camp showed several of the local players could have significant roles on the team, especially Ashton Hayes at running back, Jackson LaDuke at linebacker, Chris Smalley at linebacker and Cam Zeidler at tight end.
There are 16 players on the Wolf Pack roster from area high schools, with three other omissions, for now.
McQueen linebacker Jayden LaGrone was out at practice Wednesday. But since he's a freshman walk-on, he cannot be added to the official roster until the school year actually begins in late August. Former Reed running back Spencer Firebaugh is expected to join the Wolf Pack, but he is not listed on the fall roster. And Bishop Manogue graduate Logan Howren is practicing with the Wolf Pack but cannot be listed on the roster until school starts later in August.
Here are the 16 football players from area high schools currently on the Nevada roster.
