Former Memphis Tigers wide receiver Anthony Miller signed with teh Chhicago Bears on Thursday
Center James Daniels and wide receiver Anthony Miller were among six draft picks signing contracts with the Chicago Bears on Thursday. Daniels and Miller were second-round selections in the 2018 draft last month. Also signing with the Bears were fourth-round linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe, fifth-round defensive lineman Bilal Nichols, sixth-round linebacker Kylie Fitts and seventh-round wide receiver Javon Wims. Linebacker Roquan Smith, the Bears' first-round choice out of Georgia who was picked No. 8 overall, is the only draft selection still unsigned by Chicago before the start of minicamp on Friday. Smith could still participate while unsigned, but he would be required to sign a waiver. Daniels was a 2017 All-Big Ten honorable mention selection. He started the final 12 games of last season for the Hawkeyes, where he played center and guard during his career. Miller was a first-team All-AAC and a consensus All-American last year at Memphis. In 38 career games, he caught 238 passes for 3,590 yards and 37 touchdowns. He tied for the FBS lead in touchdown receptions in 2017 with 18 and ranked third in yards with 1,462 and fifth in catches with 96. All were school records. Iyiegbuniwe was first-team All-Conference USA after compiling 117 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss last year for Western Kentucky. Nichols was a four-year starter at Delaware who played 44 career games and had 104 tackles (50 solo), 10.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, two interceptions and 10 pass breakups. Fitts saw action in 25 career games for Utah. In 2015, he led the Pac-12 and tied for ninth in FBS four forced fumbles and tied for fourth in the Pac-12 with 7.0 sacks. Wims started 14 of 15 games last season for Georgia and was the team's leading receiver with 45 catches for 720 yards and seven touchdowns. In his final two college seasons, he accumulated 62 receptions for 910 yards and eight touchdowns.
