CFB Week 2 Previews: Texas-Alabama Is Sequel to Sensational 2022 Matchup

We've had this week marked on our calendar since Texas scared the hell out of Alabama last year. After a few first week lessons in broadcasting rights, and wrongs, we now Fubo to make sure we see the games we want.
If you don't Fubo, we suggest you try it for free. (No, we weren't paid to say that, darn it.)
Saturday's game between No. 11 Texas and No. 3 Alabama feels like a sequel to their incredible battle in 2022.
It was a shocking game as the college football world was formally and dramatically introduced to the Longhorns' Triplets — Quarterback Quinn Ewers, superfast wide receiver Xaver Worthy and versatile running back Bijan Robinson.
Ewers, a runaway redshirt freshman from Ohio State, threw with impunity against the vaunted Alabama defense, completing 9-of-12 for 134 yards IN THE FIRST QUARTER before being knocked out of the game with an injured arm.
Texas harassed 'Bama quarterback Bryce Young for most of the game, but he came up with two, fourth-quarter plays Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian called a "Houdini Act" and eventually set up Will Reichard's 33-yard field goal with 10 seconds left and the Tide escaped with a 20-19 win.
In a what-goes-around-comes-around world, Young's heroics were probably difficult to deal with for Sarkisian, who was responsible for recruiting him to Alabama.
On to this week's game.
Ewers and Worthy return but Robinson is with the Atlanta Falcons and being called the NFL's best rookie running back in a long time. Young won the Heisman Trophy, was picked first in the draft and will start Sunday for the Carolina Panthers. Jalen Milroe has taken over at quarterback for Alabama.
So the cast has changed a bit, but the tension from that game was so intense it hangs over this week's matchup.

For those who have figured out the complexities of who can and cannot stream what, we provide broadcast information. Good luck with that.
Games of the week, presented in chronological order:
(All times eastern)
No. 10 Notre Dame at NC State — Noon on ABC, FuboTV (try for free): Fighting Irish quarterback Sam Hartman made a Heisman Trophy statement in Week 0 against Navy, but his play (194 yards passing, 2 TDs) got lost in the Week 1 madness of the Irish rolling Tennessee State, 56-3. The Wolfpack struggled against UConn in Week 1, and a win over Notre Dame would calm the fears of the fan base.
Nebraska at No. 22 Colorado -- Noon on Fox, FuboTV (try for free): Did you hear about "Coach Prime's" debut with Colorado? If not, have you been living under a rock? The home opener for the Buffaloes will be a wild scene in Boulder, but don't count out the Cornhuskers in coach Matt Rhule's second game leading the program.
No. 20 Ole Miss at No. 24 Tulane -- 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2, FuboTV (try for free): This is one of the most underrated games on the Saturday docket. The Ole Miss defense is going to be in for a big test against Green Wave quarterback Michael Pratt. This could be a wild, point-per-minute affair in New Orleans.
No. 23 Texas A&M at Miami — 3:30 p.m. on ABC, FuboTV (try for free): The Aggies and Hurricanes gave their fanbases hope in Week 1 with dynamic showings on offense against New Mexico and Miami (Ohio), respectively. The winner of this one will leave Hard Rock Stadium with momentum and the hope that this could be "the year."
No. 11 Texas at No. 3 Alabama — 7 p.m. on ESPN, FuboTV (try for free): The marquee game of the day will take place at Bryant-Denny Stadium when the Longhorns will look for revenge against a Crimson Tide team that answered many of their preseason questions last weekend. The quarterback battle in this one between 'Horns star Quinn Ewers and Crimson Tide first-year starter Jalen Milroe will be well worth your time.
