Louisville backup QB Travis will transfer

Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino announced in a press release on Friday that backup quarterback Jordan Travis has left the Cardinals football program and decided to transfer. Travis, a three-star member of the Cardinals' 2018 recruiting class, was rated as the No. 25 dual-threat quarterback in the country. As a freshman this season, Jackson completed four of nine passes for 71 yards and a touchdown with one interception. "Jordan Travis approached me Tuesday about transferring and we had a productive conversation about his future," a statement from Petrino began. "He talked about the possibility of getting closer to home and his family, and we agreed that it might be a better situation for him personally. Jordan is a terrific young man and I wish him nothing but the best in his collegiate career." Since he played on fewer than four games, Travis can use his redshirt year this season and maintain four years of eligibility at whichever school he transfers to. He grew up in West Palm Beach, Fla., as is believed to be looking at schools in his home state. WDRB-TV noted that Jackson had ascended to the No. 2 spot on the Cardinals' depth chart behind starter Jawon Pass. Pass and Malik Cunningham are the only two scholarship quarterbacks left on the Louisville roster.
