Reports: Patriots lose OL Wynn to torn Achilles

New England Patriots first-round draft choice offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn (50) will miss the season with a torn Achilles.
New England Patriots first-round draft choice offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn (50) will miss the season with a torn Achilles.
New England Patriots rookie offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn will miss the entire season with a torn Achilles, multiple media outlets reported Friday. Wynn, one of New England's two first-round picks (No. 23) overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, was injured in Thursday's preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The former Georgia standout was carted to the locker room after limping off the field in the first quarter of the 37-20 win over Philadelphia. The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Wynn, who was seeing his first game action after sitting out New England's preseason opener against the Washington Redskins, has seen action at both tackle spots and left guard throughout training camp. He was playing right tackle at the time of his injury. Rookie running back Sony Michel, New England's other first-round draft pick and a teammate of Wynn at Georgia, has been sidelined after having fluid drained from his knee earlier this month.
