NFL Team Report - Jacksonville Jaguars
--There was a lot of talk in the Jacksonville locker room on Sunday following the team's loss to Pittsburgh, regarding a report on ESPN that morning by Adam Schefter regarding the Jaguars possibly trading Jalen Ramsey during the offseason. Ramsey's teammates came to their teammate's defense when questioned about it afterwards. "Yeah, I guess they need to say they're going to trade Jalen every game because he went out there and had two picks and had a helluva game," said linebacker Myles Jack. "I'm happy for him. That's Jalen Ramsey 2 point 0." Telvin Smith called the report "childish." "Childish, whatever, we're over it, that's all I got. We believe in him. I'm through with it. That's who he is (the way he played today)," Smith said. Added cornerback A.J. Bouye, "I told 20 (Ramsey) what he did today was a standard for him. That's a standard for us as a defense. He solidified a lot of things." Ramsey said he didn't use the surprising report of his team trading him as inspiration to play hard in the game with the Steelers. He did have one of his best games ever with two interceptions, three pass break-ups and a team-leading eight tackles. He talked about how his agent and the Jaguars will have conversations once the season ends. "It could be whatever, get a contract extension or something," said Ramsey who is in the third year of his four-year rookie contract. "Something's going to happen. We're going to wait until that time comes. I'm trying to live in the moment and that God every day." --When the Jaguars travel to Buffalo on Sunday, it will mark Doug Marrone's first trip back to Buffalo as a head coach to the city where he once served as head coach. Marrone was head coach of the Bills in 2014 and 2015 before he walked away from the program. He then joined the Jaguars as offensive line coach for 2016 and was in that position when Jacksonville played in Buffalo on Nov. 27. Several weeks later he was named interim head coach of the Jaguars when Gus Bradley was fired. Marrone was asked this week if he felt he would be booed upon his return to Buffalo. "I am more focused on our team and doing a good job there," Marrone said. "My memories are all good memories. These dark places that people talk about. When I say dark places, I am not talking about Buffalo. People there were great, the fans, the organization, both owners, Mr. Wilson to Terry and Kim Pegula. For me, I go up there and someone pays to go into a stadium and wants to boo. That is fine. That doesn't bother me. Right now, that is what is happening at any stadium I go to. Because we are not winning." Marrone was asked how tough it is to play in Buffalo this time of year. "It is a difficult place to play. I know that. The fans are great. They are loud. That Bills Mafia is crazy. They are awesome," Marrone said. "It has always been tough. I worked for the Jets for many years and we would always have to go up there. Then I worked in Buffalo. It looks like the weather is going to be pretty good for this time of the year. If it is not, then we will have to adjust and go. We have played in cold weather games. The irony of it is I think the coldest game we played was the Titans game in Tennessee last year. That was damn cold. Now, I am used to the cold. I am insulated very well this year." BY THE NUMBERS: 118 - Quarterback Blake Bortles has attempted 118 consecutive passes without throwing an interception, the longest streak of his career. Bortles has not thrown an interception since Week 6 at Dallas.
