NFL Note - Indianapolis Colts Doyle, Jack

TE Jack Doyle (kidney) was placed on reserve/injured by the Colts Tuesday (Nov. 27). While he would normally eligible to be designated for return and begin practicing after missing at least six weeks and playing in eight weeks, the first game he would be available would be the Super Bowl. Doyle was injured Sunday and had surgery that night. Coach Frank Reich said Monday, "He was admitted to the hospital last night and had a procedure to control the injury. He is doing well. The prognosis is good, but we are going to have to place him on injured reserve."

Doyle, 6-6, 262 pounds, has played in 84 career games (42 starts) in six seasons (2013-18) with the Colts and has compiled 200 receptions for 1,728 yards and 14 touchdowns. He has seen action in five postseason contests (one start) and has caught seven passes for 30 yards. The Indianapolis native was originally claimed by the Colts off waivers (from Tennessee) on Sept. 1, 2013.

In 2018, Doyle started all six games he appeared in and caught 26 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He was selected to his first career Pro Bowl following the 2017 season after registering career highs in receptions (80) and receiving yards (690) while adding four touchdowns.
