Newman Smith defensive back Jaylen Moses is latest Dallas-area player to commit to SMU
SMU continues to keep the top Dallas-area talent at home, earning a commitment from a fifth D-FW player for the Class of 2024. Carrollton Newman Smith defensive back Jaylen Moses committed to SMU on Thursday night, choosing the Mustangs over the likes of Tulane, UT-San Antonio, Arkansas State and Louisiana. Moses (5-10, 170) had 13 offers in all.
Moses is rated the 10th-best safety and 99th-best overall player in the Dallas area. SMU’s eight-player recruiting class includes South Oak Cliff wide receiver Jamyri Cauley, Duncanville safety Ka’Davion Dotson, Red Oak linebacker Zach Smith and Cedar Hill cornerback Alexander Rodgers. Cauley, a four-star recruit, has the third-highest recruiting ranking among players who have committed to SMU since 2007.
Dotson, also a four-star recruit, is fifth on that list. .
