Central Catholic linebacker Dexter Foster commits to Oregon State
Dexter Foster, a linebacker who recently transferred to Central Catholic High from Roosevelt, verbally committed Sunday to Oregon State football. Foster becomes the 13th player to commit to the Beavers’ 2024 recruiting class. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Foster is the only linebacker to date in the upcoming class, and the lone in-state commit.
As a sophomore in 2021, Foster was a Portland Interscholastic League first-team linebacker after leading Roosevelt in tackles. Last year Foster earning all-league honors as a linebacker and tight end. The only known offer Foster had besides Oregon State was Montana State.
But the rising senior, rated 3 stars by 247 Sports, was gaining momentum on the recruiting trail this summer with interest growing among Pac-12 schools. Foster visited Oregon State in June, and a month later, commited to the Beavers. .
