Badgers land second 2025 commit from Virginia DB
A Virginia standout with family ties to a former University of Wisconsin great plans to become a Badger. Remington Moss, who plays for St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School in Fredericksburg, announced Wednesday his verbal commitment to the UW football program.
"I chose to commit because what they're building up there's definitely something special," he told BadgerExtra on Wednesday. Rivals currently evaluates the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Moss as a high three-star recruit. He said he notified the UW staff of his decision Sunday.
He announced his 27th offer from Northwestern in late June, and Power Five interest has ramped up for him. Rivals lists notable offers from Maryland, Michigan State, Mississippi, NC State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and UW. Moss traveled to Madison last week, and he was one of several recruits slated to take an unofficial visit to the program last weekend.
UW projects him to play in the defensive backfield, though which position has not yet been clarified. Moss told BadgerExtra that his father was a cousin of the late running back Brent Moss, who gained 3,428 yards rushing on 4. 9 yards per carry and 34 rushing touchdowns at UW between 1991-94.
Moss, who expects to return to Madison for UW's homecoming game Oct. 7 against Rutgers, is the second commit for the Badgers’ 2025 class. He joins quarterback Landyn Locke.
