Liam Coen, Ex-UMass QB and Kentucky O.C., hospitalized after medical episode

By Matt Vautour Liam Coen, former UMass star quarterback and current Kentucky offensive coordinator was hospitalized on Sunday after a “medical episode” while working at the team’s facility following the team’s win over Eastern Kentucky Saturday. The Kentucky Athletic Department tweeted a statement: “On Sept. 10, 2023, at approximately 12:40 p.

After leaving UMass as the owner of most of the school’s career passing records, Coen was hired as the quarterbacks coach at Brown (2010, 2012-13) and Rhode Island (2011).

He spent two years with Mark Whipple at UMass (2014-15). He spent two years in Orono as Maine’s offensive coordinator before joining Sean McVay’s staff for three seasons as an assistant wide receivers and quarterbacks coach for the Rams (2018-20). He was hired as the offensive coordinator & quarterbacks coach at Kentucky in 2021.

He went back to the Rams as the offensive coordinator in 2022 but returned to the Wildcats this season in the same role he held before. .
