S Tony Jefferson had to leave the game twice Week 12 against the Raiders with an ankle injury. Afterward, he was wearing a walking boot in the locker room. Jefferson was replaced by Chuck Clark. Jefferson did not know if the injury is serious or his status moving forward.

CB Maurice Canady, who suffered a thigh injury in the opener against the Bills, was active Week 12 against the Raiders. He played 21 snaps on special teams. Canady was designated to return from IR and back at practice last week.

TE Jack Doyle was placed on injured reserve with a kidney injury, the team announced on Monday. Doyle suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Miami Dolphins when he took a big hit in the fourth quarter. He was hospitalized as a result of the injury. WR Marvin Jones, who missed the past two games with a knee injury, has been placed on injured reserve, Lions head coach Matt Patricia announced Monday. Jones had 35 catches for 508 yards and five touchdowns in his nine games this season. Last year, Jones had 61 receptions for 1,101 yards and nine touchdowns while leading the NFL in yards per catch at 18.0.

K Zane Gonzalez was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster to replace Phil Dawson. Gonzalez was released by the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 17 after making just 2 of 5 field-goal attempts.

Josh Bynes was placed on injured reserve Monday with a thumb injury. He has started all 11 games this season and has 75 total tackles, including two sacks.

K Phil Dawson was placed on injured reserve Monday with a hip injury. He has made 5 of 8 field-goal attempts this season, including 1 of 2 on Sunday.

CB Bene Benwikere was released by the Cardinals, the team announced Monday. He started eight games this season and was a starter in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. Benwikere, who had one interception and half a sack this season, played for Dallas last season, participating in 12 games but not starting any of them. The Cardinals signed him to a one-year contract in March.

OT Andre Smith was released by the Cardinals, the team announced Monday. Smith started eight games this season and was a starter in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. The Cardinals gave Smith a two-year contract in the offseason with $3.5 million in guarantees. He played in 13 games, including eight starts, for the Cincinnati Bengals last year.

QB Cody Kessler will replace Blake Bortles as the Jaguars' starting quarterback in Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, coach Doug Marrone announced Monday. Kessler had played in just one game this season, completing 21 of 30 passes for 156 yards, one touchdown and one interception after replacing Bortles in the Oct. 21 loss to the Houston Texans.
