K Matthew McCrane was placed on waivers by the Cardinals Monday (Nov. 19). He was signed by the Cardinals Saturday because of a hip injury suffered by Phil Dawson. He kicked in Sunday's game against the Raiders, connecting on all three of his extra-point attempts.

LB James Onwualu was signed by the 49ers to their practice squad Monday (Nov. 19). He had been waived from reserve/injured with an injury settlement by the Chargers Aug. 25. Onwualu (6-1, 235) originally signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 1, 2017. He appeared in nine games and registered nine special teams tackles last season with the Chargers.

CB Lenzy Pipkins was signed by the Browns to their practice squad Monday (Nov. 19). He had been waived by the Lions Nov. 12. Pipkins (6-0, 196) is officially in his second NFL season out of Oklahoma State. Originally an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers in 2017, he's started two of 15 career games, collecting 23 tackles and a pass breakup. QB Alex Smith's career is not thought to be in jeopardy after he sustained a broken tibia and fibula, according to a published report Monday. RB Kerryon Johnson is considered week-to-week with a sprained knee, multiple media outlets reported on Monday. Johnson rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown before exiting in the second half of Sunday's 20-19 win over the Carolina Panthers. The 21-year-old was injured on a run in which he cut to the left side of the field before being tackled near the sideline for a 3-yard gain.

WR Cooper Kupp was placed on injured reserve, the team announced Monday. Kupp, 25, recorded 40 receptions for 566 yards and six touchdowns in eight games this season. The 6-foot-2, 208-pound Kupp's best performance came in Week 4, when he had a career-high nine catches for 162 yards and two scores versus the Minnesota Vikings.
